The role
As a Senior IT Project Manager, you’ll lead delivery of digital capabilities that underpin national security across the UK. You will manage high‑value, strategically important IT projects to enhance team operations, collaboration, and protection of national interests.
You will shape and deliver complex technology programmes that modernise systems, improve user experience and connect thousands of people working in critical environments.
Responsibilities
* Implement structured project management processes to deliver business value from IT projects.
* Develop project plans, assign tasks, and direct and monitor daily work activities across multiple teams.
* Oversee project quality through regular review, ensuring risks, issues, and dependencies are managed proactively.
* Track key milestones and adjust plans or resources to meet customer and business needs.
* Maintain comprehensive project documentation in line with Babcock’s IT Project Management standards.
Essential Experience
* Experienced IT professional committed to delivering cost‑effective and efficient project outcomes.
* Demonstrable experience in IT software application project management.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Project (Project Server experience preferred).
* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously (typically 4–5).
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Qualifications
* PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent project management certification.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) clearance.
