We are recruiting for an Electrical Estimator to join a growing engineering business delivering bespoke electrical projects. This is a key commercial role, focused on producing accurate, competitive costings and supporting successful project delivery from the earliest stage.
Key responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, and associated project costs
* Review specifications, drawings, and tender documents to build accurate proposals
* Work closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure alignment
* Interpret client requirements and ensure full scope is captured in estimates
* Monitor tender-stage budgets and maintain commercial awareness
* Maintain clear and organised records of estimates and bid activity
* Identify risks within tenders and propose practical mitigation strategies
* Support and mentor junior estimators within the team
Requirements:
* Electrical engineering background (HNC/HND or equivalent)
* Experience in an estimating role within electrical or building services
* Strong technical understanding of electrical systems
* High attention to detail with solid numerical and analytical skills
* Confident working with technical drawings and documentation
* Strong communication and organisational ability
* Experience supporting or guiding junior team members
