Overview
Portfield School caters for pupils with a range of severe and complex learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders and sensory impairments. This is a fixed-term appointment until 9 October 2026, offered to cover a period of maternity leave.
Salary and terms
Salary: Pay Scale Within: £32,433 - £49,944 + SEN 1 £2,728. Teaching staff at Portfield receive an additional SEN 1 Allowance of £2,728.00.
Responsibilities
All teachers are required to teach differentiated lessons to reflect the varying needs of the children in their classroom. The applicant should be prepared to teach a group of pupils as part of the interview procedure.
Qualifications and requirements
* Knowledge of Progression Steps, Early Years and Curriculum for Wales.
* It is desirable that candidates have knowledge of the ALN Transformation Act.
* NQT’s are welcome to apply.
* The ability to converse in Welsh is desirable.
* Safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk is a high priority; the post is subject to a DBS disclosure check.
