Wise Employment are looking for an IT Network Security Engineer to join a rapidly expanding company based in Exeter. This opportunity is a Full Time Permanent role working 8:30am -5pm Monday to Friday (38.75 hours per week). It offers a salary of £36,500 along with some fantastic benefits such as:\n\n24days’ holiday (rising to 27) + bank holidays, Hybrid working (based on team and business needs), Contributory pension & life assurance, Flexitime & cycle to work scheme, Free eye tests & staff discounts, ongoing training & development support\n\nAs an IT Network Security Engineer your role will involve:\n\nDesigning and managing robust, secure network infrastructure in line with Group IT and security standards.\nAdminister routers, switches, firewalls (Fortigate), VPNs, VLANs, servers, telephony, and LAN/WAN systems.\nOversee IP address management, DNS, DHCP, VoIP, and VPN traffic to ensure performance and security.\nPlan and test hardware lifecycle, hot-swaps, failovers, and business continuity procedures.\nCollaborate with internal IT and Group SOC teams to implement preventative security measures.\nMaintain detailed documentation, including network schematics and technical processes.\nProvide hands-on support for endpoint hardware, client installation, and end-user training.\nSupport MS Active Directory, Group Policies, O365, and secure email/web environments.\nTo be successful in this role you will need:\n\n5+ years in a Technical IT role in a Microsoft environment.\nCCNA/CCNP certification (mandatory).\nStrong experience with LAN/WAN/VLAN, VPNs, and enterprise-grade switching (Dell preferred).\nFirewall configuration and management (Fortigate experience highly desirable).\nSolid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, 2FA, and AD.\nFamiliarity with VMware/ESXi, SCCM/MECM, Veeam, CrowdStrike, and Cortex XDR is a plus.\nExcellent troubleshooting, communication, and time-management skills.\nProactive, collaborative mindset with a flexible and methodical approach.\nPlease note that the salary offered will be based on your previous experience, skillset and determined by the Hiring Manager during the interview process.\n\nSo what are you waiting for, if you want a new role like this do not delay apply today
