Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 6pm; Saturdays as required

About the Role / Main Responsibilities:
* Manage the day-to-day operation of your site to ensure maximum productivity, minimal downtime, and quality of product, in compliance with environmental and health & safety legislation.
* Produce risk assessments and method statements, and ensure staff are trained on them.
* Organise staff holidays to maintain adequate staffing levels.
* Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Quarry Operations Director.
* Coordinate with site staff to ensure tasks are completed satisfactorily.
* Keep accurate records of staff timesheets.
* Communicate progress and training needs with the Area Manager.
* Conduct new employee inductions, ensuring PPE and equipment are provided.
* Conduct regular training sessions, including toolbox talks.
* Maintain good relationships with the transport department, Materials Manager, Area Manager, Quarry Operations Director, landowners, and neighbors.
* Monitor site plant and ensure all checks are completed.
* Investigate accidents/incidents with the Health & Safety Manager.
* Ensure compliance with environmental and health & safety standards.
Skills & Competencies Required:
* Experience managing a quarry, landfill, or similar role
* WAMITAB certification
* NVQ Level 6 in Quarrying
* Excellent communication skills
* Problem-solving skills
* Methodical and flexible approach
* Proactive team player
* MS Office proficiency
* Good planning skills
* Strong leadership qualities
* Understanding of staff motivation
* Project management skills
* Knowledge of health and safety legislation
