Overview of the role
As an Electrical Building Services Engineer at Mott MacDonald you will design and deliver cost‑effective, innovative and sustainable solutions on local and international projects across sectors such as Energy, Aviation, Elite Sports Commercial, Ministry of Justice, Healthcare, Local Authority, Rail (Stations), Education and Higher Education.
Responsibilities
* Deliver functional design solutions across the built environment sector, ensuring the environment is visually appealing and comfortable.
* Manage all aspects of assigned project work, from drafting to delivery.
* Use cable, lighting and other calculation software (e.g., Trimble Pro Design, Relux or Dialux) and be competent in AutoCAD and Revit (2D and 3D).
* Support and mentor junior team members and liaise with associated engineering disciplines.
* Offer consultative service to clients and deliver first‑class service.
* Attend the office minimum two days per week, with additional days as required for project support.
Candidate specification
Essential
* Methodical approach to problem solving.
* Ability to work independently and use initiative.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong report and technical drawing accuracy.
* Minimum three years post‑graduate (or equivalent) experience in building services engineering.
* Degree qualified or similar apprentice route with relevant experience, working towards chartership.
* Experience on building services and multi‑disciplinary projects.
* Strong teamwork ethic, enthusiasm and ambition.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
* Leadership ability for electrical elements of large or smaller projects.
