About The Role
Connect Plus Services (CPS) is proud to operate and maintain one of the UK’s most critical road networks. As part of the team supporting the strategic M25 motorway, you’ll help keep millions of journeys moving safely every day.
We’re now recruiting a Network Operations Supervisor to play a key leadership role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality network operations across the M25.
As a Network Operations Supervisor, you’ll support the safe and effective delivery of planned and reactive works across your allocated area of the M25 network. Leading teams of Incident Support Unit (ISU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Recovery Operatives (Dartford only), you’ll promote a strong safety‑first culture while ensuring operational targets are consistently achieved.
What you'll be doing
As a Network Operations Supervisor, you will take responsibility for managing on‑site Incident Support Unit, Emergency Response Team and Recovery Operatives, ensuring both planned and reactive works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard. You will lead daily operational activity across your allocated area of the M25 network, making sure teams are properly resourced, briefed, and supported to succeed.
A key part of the role will involve preparing and delivering detailed daily briefings, clearly communicating work methods, risks, and control measures, and following this up with structured debriefs to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement. You will oversee the accurate recording of works through the Maintenance Management System and support your teams in using digital devices to maintain high‑quality reporting and records.
You will play an active role in safety management by carrying out regular safety tours, litter surveys, and gate stops, promoting best practice and ensuring compliance with CPS procedures. You will also support the development and implementation of RAMS, oversee routine vehicle and plant checks, and manage defect reporting and rectification.
As part of your operational leadership, you will attend incidents in the capacity of Bronze Command, work closely with internal teams and external partners including National Highways, and contribute to maintaining the safe operation of the network at all times. You will participate in the Winter Service rota, provide cover for the Depot Manager when required, and offer support to asset teams across drainage, structures, tunnels, soft estates, and Dartford operations.
Alongside operational delivery, you will manage day‑to‑day people activities, including performance monitoring, absence management, overtime, annual leave, and rota planning. You will support the development of your team through regular feedback, training, performance reviews, and improvement plans where necessary, while maintaining strong internal communication through toolbox talks and regular briefings. You will also champion continuous improvement and sustainability, encouraging new ideas that enhance performance and support Connect Plus Services’ long‑term goals.
Who we're looking for
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated operational leader with a strong background in highways maintenance or a similar transferable environment. You will hold an appropriate CSCS qualification and SMSTS or SSSTS certification, and you will bring proven experience of managing teams in safety‑critical, fast‑paced settings.
You will be confident in leading people, driving performance, and maintaining high standards of productivity and quality. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be required to brief, motivate, and engage your teams while working collaboratively with internal departments and external partners. A customer‑focused mindset is important, alongside the ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional when responding to incidents and operational challenges.
You will be highly organised, comfortable using digital systems and reporting tools, and committed to accurate record‑keeping and compliance. A proactive approach to safety, risk management, and continuous improvement is vital, as is a genuine commitment to developing others and creating a positive, inclusive team culture.
A full UK driving licence is required, and you must be willing to work a rotating 4‑on, 4‑off shift pattern, including both day and night shifts.
