Job Title: Mechanical Systems Engineer
Reports To: Senior Director, Engineering R&D
Location: Battersea, London, 3 days a week in the office
What You’ll Do
We’re seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer for our Systems Engineering group within Shark & Ninja Engineering teams in London. Your role will be pivotal in identifying key system requirements, prototyping, testing, and collaborating across functional teams to refine project development. Responsibilities include:
* Build proof-of-concept prototypes with microcontrollers & 3D-printed designs to shape initial product concepts.
* Provide system-level guidance to engineering, electrical, and marketing teams to understand tradeoffs in complex thermal & electromechanical products.
* Develop innovative product design solutions for Shark & Ninja products for global markets.
* Work within the multi-disciplinary Product Development team to define, design, build, and test products from conception to mass production.
* Apply analytical approaches to problem-solving.
* Evaluate, test, analyze, and troubleshoot prototypes and production systems in the lab.
* Review test results and provide feedback for product improvements.
What You’ll Bring
Minimum qualifications include:
* 4-8 years of experience in electro-mechanical systems engineering.
* BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience programming microcontrollers for sensor data acquisition and actuator control.
* Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling (CREO or SolidWorks preferred).
* Familiarity with 3D printing and production processes such as injection molding.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals and manufacturing techniques, including DFM.
* Experience designing and testing consumer electromechanical products and small appliances is highly preferred.
* Analytical skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem resolution.
* Hands-on fabrication skills and familiarity with machine shop tools.
* Knowledge of electronics (analog/digital) and test equipment is a plus.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly.
