We're looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in the Thames Valley region.
Location: Flexible within the Thames Valley region, from Reading to Oxford.
Hours: 45 hours per week – with some flexibility available. Please discuss your preferences when you speak to us.
In this role, you will work on the Thames Water framework, supporting multiple projects across their operating area on both clean and wastewater sites. These projects are part of Thames Water's regulatory commitments to improve effluent quality during the AMP8 spending period, mainly supporting projects in the Thames Valley and Oxford areas.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing guidance and support to project delivery teams to ensure environmental legal compliance.
* Supporting the maintenance of conformity with Kier and Client Environmental Management Systems.
* Helping meet sustainability targets and delivering work in line with Kier and client sustainability policies.
Daily activities:
* Act as the first point of contact for project and design teams regarding environmental management coverage.
* Assist or lead the development of project environmental management systems.
* Identify and support project teams to meet regulatory and client requirements.
* Develop and facilitate environmental training programs.
* Conduct environmental audits, site inspections, and support third-party audits.
Ideal candidate:
* Experience in environmental management and sustainability on construction projects.
* Knowledge of assessing environmental aspects and impacts, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing environmental management procedures.
* Practical experience with implementing and improving EMSs certified to BS EN ISO 14001.
* Understanding of statutory environmental requirements and stakeholder engagement, including statutory bodies.
* A full driving license.
