About the Role
The RAC is the UK’s leading breakdown service provider, powered by our dedicated team of 4,000 ‘orange heroes’. We are experiencing unprecedented growth and are excited to invite skilled, field-based Roadside Mechanics to join our Roadside Patrol team.
Your Responsibilities
As a Roadside Mechanic, you will:
* Provide exceptional roadside assistance to our members.
* Handle breakdowns and offer technical support face-to-face.
* Utilize the latest vehicle technology with support from our technical team.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
* A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
* Demonstrable technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
* A customer-focused approach.
* A full UK driving licence.
* Flexibility to work at relatively short notice.
* Willingness to travel and stay overnight if necessary.
Working Conditions
You’ll work the equivalent of 40 hours per week without a set roster. Your schedule will be provided seven days in advance, with core hours sent three days prior. Shifts will include evenings, early mornings, weekends, and bank holidays.
