gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Tooling Mechanic to work at their facility based near Blackburn
Performance Objectives
Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications on tools, jigs, fixtures and related equipment.
To carry out the servicing and repairs of mould tools with the toolroom/moulding and production environment.
Working closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations where necessary.
Diagnose tooling issues and identify corrective actions to minimise the downtime.
Perform regular inspections on tools to ensure they meet company standards and safety requirements.
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble precision tools and equipment.
Maintain an inventory of tools and ensure proper storage and handling.
Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimise tooling for efficiency and quality.
Document maintenance activities and complete work order accurately.Person Specification
Proven experience as a Tooling Mechanic, Toolmaker, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in using hand tools, machine tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Experience with CNC machines and precision equipment is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Apply
