We're partnered with an ambitious DeepTech scale-up developing advanced software platforms powering applications across robotics, autonomous systems, and sensor-driven technologies. Their products sit at the intersection of hardware and software, enabling customers to solve complex operational challenges using cutting-edge engineering.
As the company continues to scale, they're looking for a Lead Software Engineer / Chief Engineer to provide technical leadership across the engineering organisation while remaining hands-on in the development of core systems and products.

The Role
As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll play a central role in defining and delivering the company's technical vision.
You'll work closely with engineering leadership, product teams, and founders to guide architectural decisions, lead complex technical initiatives, and ensure the team continues to deliver high-quality, scalable software.
While this is a leadership role, the expectation is that you'll remain highly involved in technical decision-making and hands-on development where required.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the design and development of critical software systems.
* Driving technical strategy and long-term architectural decisions.
* Mentoring and supporting engineers across multiple experience levels.
* Helping scale engineering processes, standards, and best practices.
* Collaborating closely with AI/ML, Hardware, and Product teams.
* Leading delivery of complex technical projects from concept through deployment.
* Supporting hiring efforts and helping build a world-class engineering team.
* Balancing technical leadership with hands-on software development.
What They're Looking For
* Strong experience building complex software systems in production environments.
* Expertise in one or more of:
* Rust
* C++
* Python
* Java
* TypeScript
* Proven experience leading technical projects and influencing engineering direction.
* Previous experience mentoring engineers or managing small teams.
* Strong architectural and system design capabilities.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, technically demanding environment.
Nice to Have
* Experience with Linux-based systems.
* Exposure to robotics, autonomous systems, sensor platforms, or embedded technologies.
* Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering environments.
* Background in scaling engineering teams within high-growth technology businesses.
