Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant Location: West London (Specific School Locations Disclosed During Interview) Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only (39 weeks) Hours: 32.5 hours per week (8:30am–3:30pm) Salary: £28,509 – £29,361 per annum (Scale 6, Point 18–20, inclusive), subject to April 2025 pay award Closing Date: 12pm, Wednesday 11th June 2025 Interview Date: Wednesday 18th June 2025 The Role: A reputable West London special school seeks compassionate, dedicated, and adaptable Teaching Assistants to support children and young people aged 4–19 with Autism and complex Special Educational Needs. As a valuable member of the classroom support team, you will contribute to creating a positive and tailored learning experience for the pupils. Whether you have experience in mainstream or specialist settings, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Your responsibilities will include assisting teaching staff with lesson delivery, implementing pupil-specific learning strategies, providing personal care if necessary, and promoting independence and positive wellbeing in learners. Each day presents unique challenges that contribute to the long-term development of these exceptional pupils. Requirements Requirements: We are particularly interested in individuals who are passionate about SEN and fostering inclusive learning environments. We encourage applications from those who: Have experience working with children or young people with autism or complex needs (mainstream experience also welcomed) Possess a calm, patient, and adaptable demeanor with a flexible attitude towards individual needs Demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills, along with clear and confident communication abilities Are motivated to learn, open to new approaches, and enthusiastic about collaborative teamwork Exhibit strong professionalism and empathy in all situations Formal qualifications in SEN or related areas are desirable but not essential.
