The Opportunity
The Building Construction Products Division (BCP) offers an Engineering Project Team Leader position, responsible for leading project teams in Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), Key Strategic and High Priority Projects, and Cost Reduction initiatives. This role addresses business challenges in emissions, engines, and engine installation on a global basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD)’s CPI Team, BCP’s Product Support Teams, and Engine System Team colleagues to drive continuous field product quality improvement and warranty reduction by addressing high customer pain points across all BCP engine systems. The role also involves interaction with New Product Introduction (NPI) programs to assess carry‑over risk and validate CPI fixes.
What You Will Do
* Provide strategic vision and leadership for Key Strategic and High Priority Projects and Cost Reduction initiatives on a global basis.
* Prioritise programs and daily activities based on customer value, business impact, technical risks and overall timelines.
* Set a model for high‑quality, high‑velocity technical achievements while coordinating, aligning and leveraging enterprise strategies and investments.
* Identify, track and communicate industry developments and trends to technical and commercial teams.
* Develop strong relationships with product groups, system engineering, commercial teams, test and validation, and enterprise partners.
* Own the BCP engine system team Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) process, including governance execution and process improvement.
* Prioritise existing CPI project list based on warranty spend, customer pain and business impact.
* Lead collaboration with BCP product support team and IPSD to ensure visibility and alignment of CPI projects and priorities for each product group globally.
* Monitor warranty data across products to spot emerging issues and collaborate with IPSD to gain alignment and drive action.
* Provide strategic vision and common approach in working with IPSD to devise a methodology for low‑volume failures across all machine product lines.
* Develop strong relationships with IPSD, product support teams, system engineering and category team.
* Coach and mentor system engineering to grow a highly independent, deep technical expertise within the CPI space.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science or an accredited engineering curriculum.
* Knowledge of emission regulations, engine design/development and installation across multiple applications, with the ability to solve significant technical challenges.
* Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques and the ability to detect and resolve technical problems in design, development, manufacturing or product management environments.
* Knowledge of major products and services and the ability to apply this knowledge in diverse situations.
* Understanding of effective influencing tactics and strategies for impact and challenging decisions.
* Project management skills: planning, organising, monitoring and controlling projects to achieve objectives efficiently.
* Experience with requirement analysis tools, methods and techniques to elicit, analyse and record business functional and non‑functional requirements.
* Knowledge of product design and development from concept to production.
Preferred Additional Experience
* Ability to communicate, collaborate and build trust across a wide range of people – customers, dealers, product specialists, internal partners, suppliers, technicians, engineers and leadership.
* Experience with quality process controls in components and/or products.
* Experience coaching, motivating and developing a team.
* Ability to identify and create value delivering high return on investment for customers.
* Experience with enterprise investments and alignment with corporate strategies.
* Background in quality systems, engine design/installation and development.
* Attention to detail and the bigger picture to drive teams to meet key timelines and milestones.
* Technical validation experience (DFMEA, DOE).
* Six Sigma Black Belt – DMAIC.
* Data analytics experience (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

Other Details
Travel: Up to 25% travel is expected (domestic and international). This position requires onsite work five days a week.
