Working Arrangements
All council roles are allocated to a fixed, field or flexible workstyle. Some roles are agile, allowing employees to maximise performance while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance. Fixed workstyle roles operate from a fixed council location; field workstyle roles are usually in the community with required ‘touch‑down’ at a council location; flexible workstyle roles have a flexible base location and may involve home or office work to meet service requirements.
Diversity and Equality
We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the diverse community we serve. We actively seek applications from all backgrounds and under‑represented groups. As a Disability Confident Employer, we provide guaranteed interview options for suitable applicants. We hold the Stonewall Gold Award, the RACE Code Quality Mark, a Gold Award Armed Forces Employer status, and support care leavers.
Recruitment of Ex‑Offenders
The Council uses the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for any vacancies requiring a DBS check. We do not discriminate unfairly on the basis of a conviction, and we are guided by principles of fairness, transparency and justice.
