The School of Engineering seeks to appoint a KTP Associate. This position will contribute to “Deploying Intelligent Modular Power for Tomorrow’s Grid” (KTP) with the Institute for Energey Systems. This role is UE07 and is available on a fixed-term basis for 24 months and will be based at Supply Design Limited’s power laboratory in Livingston, Scotland.
The Opportunity:
The and Supply Design Limited have been awarded a (KTP) to employ to Associate to develop advanced control systems for power electronics using digital twin and multi-module power electronic technologies. This one out of two complementary associates will work within Supply Design Ltd’s engineering team and with University of Edinburgh researchers to design and implement a digital twin and HIL system, supporting the transition of new technologies from prototype to commercial application and developing real-world skills for a rewarding career in industry or academia.
Your skills and attributes for success:
1. A good honours degree or MSc/PhD in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
2. Understanding of embedded programming, digital simulation, or power electronics.
3. Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
4. Collaborative, open, and proactive mindset.
5. Experience with FPGAs, HIL systems, or related hardware/software prototyping.
