Children's Home Dual Registered Manager (1 & 2 bed homes)
Location: Barnsley

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent

Full Time: 39 hours per week

Salary: Up to £56,981.23 with bonuses

Accountable to: Responsible individuals and Operational Directors

At Dove Adolescent Services we support young people within our care to develop emotional resilience to achieve their full potential in all areas of their lives. The underpinning ethos within our homes is of fostering appropriate relationships with young people and their significant others, to support them within their future transitions into adulthood.

We are currently seeking a Children's Home Dual Registered Manager to join our services in Barnsley looking after not just one… but two of our amazing homes! You will be overseeing a one and a two-bedroom home, with a small team already assigned.

As a Dual Registered Manager you will be responsible for the day to day management of the homes to ensure we deliver a high quality level of care, ensuring the homes actively promote the rights of young people as individuals and provides them with quality care in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organisation.

You will also lead a team of care workers, in conjunction with relevant legislation and guidance to ensure that good outcomes are achieved for young people within the home to meet their physical, psychological, emotional & social development.


Responsibilities

* Develop and deliver high-quality care in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations, including Ofsted SCIFF and the Organisation's Policy and Procedures, with an anti-discriminatory approach and safeguarding responsibilities.
* Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines; ensure staff have adequate knowledge and training.
* Maintain appropriate records for young people and employees; implement monitoring and evaluation systems.
* Provide management information including the collection and return of statistical information as required.
* Develop and promote new techniques and approaches to childcare provision within the home; be part of the senior team and promote the organisation's well-being.
* Attend, prepare for and chair various meetings internally and externally.
* On a rota basis, take on-call responsibilities; sleep-in shifts may be required to cover shortfalls.
* Contribute to the overall ethos, values and aims of the organisation.
* Write concise and evaluative reports and oversee all written communication to sustain required standards.
* Exercise decision-making authority where appropriate.
* Oversee admissions and discharges to the home.
* Innovate change and lead a vision aligned with the organisational ethos.


Qualifications

* Enthusiasm in providing the highest quality care and education
* Experience of managing a team
* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, young people and outside agencies
* Qualified social work or equivalent: QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People) and QCF Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People Workforce or equivalent
* A minimum of 3 years' experience within the last 5 years in a role relevant to residential care of children; at least 1 year supervising and managing staff
* Must be licensed to drive a manual car and have use of own car; on-call duties may be required
* Thorough knowledge of Children's Home legislation, Ofsted inspection requirements, and safeguarding procedures


Benefits

* 25 days per annum plus 8 statutory holidays
* £3000 Bonus - Outstanding Ofsted Report per home = £6000
* Full Occupancy Bonus - £300 a month
* On Call payments - £25 weekday, £35 weekends
* Normal working days are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm; sleep-in duties may be required to support the home
* Petrol Allowance - Paid when using own car; proof of business insurance required
* Pension - In line with organisational Pension Scheme and government guidance
