Therewill be a requirement to work across all of our sites if required including;Leeds General Infirmary, Seacroft Hospital as well as Armley Moor HealthCentre and Beeston Village Surgery. Main duties of the job
Themain duties for this role will include performing a range of respiratory andsleep investigations including spirometry with reversibility, full lungfunction tests, capillary blood gases, field exercise tests, as well as sleepanalysis under supervision. You will work towards being an autonomouspractitioner through in house training and there will be opportunity to gainprofessional qualifications, such as ARTP certifications. As a vital memberof the existing respiratory team, you will support junior members of staffwith teaching and training in spirometry. In addition you will be involved indepartmental ordering, stock control and quality assurance processes. Youwill also work alongside visiting students including those on formal academicprogrammes. Successful applicants will work as part of a friendly team toprovide high quality and efficient respiratory services. The department has amonthly governance meeting where training will be provided to keep up to datewith any new equipment and technology. Associate Practitioners are supportedby the wider qualified healthcare scientist team, who ensure a fair andvaried role with a focus on staff health and wellbeing. Performs spirometry, full pulmonaryfunction testing and capillary blood gas tests alongside other diagnostictests.
Support physiologists with the dayto day running of respiratory labs including calibration, QC and ordering keystock/supplies.
Report any potential lifethreatening situations directly to the appropriate member of staff within thedesignated area of work.
To be professionally and legallyaccountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of patientsin your care.
To assist in routine assessment ofboth in-patients and out-patients prior to a range of clinical Investigationsto ensure the patient is suitable for the investigation.
Carries out all aspects of clinicalwork as approved by their Line Manager.

Seeks advice from more experiencedstaff members when/if required.

Frequently undertakes collection ofdata for use in audit, research projects and equipment testing.
