High-quality teaching and a rich, holistic education, underpinned by collaboration, respect and strong professional development.

The School

Elsley is a diverse and happy community with a wide range of experiences and cultures. We are committed to high-quality teaching, strong outcomes and a broad, holistic education. Our ethos is underpinned by collaboration, respect and a shared commitment to improving outcomes for all pupils. Children are at the heart of everything we do.

Staff work closely together to share good practice and develop their teaching, supported by a strong culture of coaching and professional development. We aim to balance high expectations with a supportive and reflective working environment, and received a Gold Award in recognition of our work supporting staff wellbeing.

Elsley Primary School has grown to four forms of entry and has developed a supportive and high-achieving culture alongside modern facilities. Although situated in a highly urban area, the school benefits from a unique setting with an on-site farm and extensive grounds to support outdoor learning.

We are proud of the breadth of our curriculum, combining strong academic outcomes with rich and memorable experiences. Our residential programme begins with early outdoor experiences and develops into extended residential trips away from school for our oldest pupils.

Our pupils face a range of challenges, including high levels of deprivation and mobility. Many pupils join mid-year, often with little or no English. Our systems, curriculum and staff training are designed to respond to these challenges and ensure all pupils make strong progress from their starting points.

The Post

Are you a nurturing teacher, with a focus on achieving high standards and progress and committed to developing children’s character?

We are looking for excellent teachers. If you want to join an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed staff, with modern buildings and facilities and a collaborative, supportive atmosphere, then we want to hear from you!

Staff are empowered and improve their practice through an established coaching culture and there is no data-led performance management.

There are extensive opportunities for professional development. Elsley works with external partners to lead on-site teacher training; we encourage collaboration and networking within Elsley and with other schools; we offer high-quality continuous professional development; as well as opportunities for middle and senior leadership.

Elsley is a lead school for the North West London Teaching School Hub delivering one of the National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) to leaders across three London boroughs.

There are opportunities for our staff to complete NPQs and many have successfully progressed to leadership posts within and outside of Elsley Primary School.

Middle Leadership Opportunities (TLR2)

Alongside classroom teacher posts, we are offering TLR2 middle leadership opportunities as part of our ongoing commitment to developing leadership.

We are particularly interested in candidates who would like to contribute to:

* Character Development (TLR2) – Developing the school’s approach to character and personal growth.

Applicants should demonstrate impact beyond their own classroom, for example through contributing to curriculum development, supporting colleagues or leading aspects of school improvement.
