Employee Relations Manager
Salary Guide £70,000 - £72,000 plus £7k car
Location: Central London
Hybrid working - Typical 3 days in the office 2 days from home
We’re looking for an experienced Employee Relations Manager who’s confident handling the full spectrum of complex ER issues right through to tribunal. Reporting directly into the HR Director this is a stand-alone role, so you’ll be the go-to person for anything complex ER-related, but you won’t be on an island; you’ll have solid support from the Business Partnering team.
What you’ll be doing:
* Leading on complex ER casework, including capability, conduct, grievances, and dismissals
* Managing cases all the way to tribunal level, including preparation and representation
* Advising on UK and Ireland employment law, making sure the company is staying compliant and acting fairly
* Working closely with trade unions and employee reps, including supporting collective consultation and pay negotiations
* Reviewing, updating, and creating people policies so they’re clear, practical, and in line with legislation
* Coaching managers to handle ER matters with confidence and consistency
* Spotting trends, sharing insights, and helping shape overall ER strategy
What we’re looking for:
* Strong, hands-on ER experience in both the UK and Ireland
* Proven track record managing complex cases and tribunal work
* Comfortable working with trade unions and navigating collective bargaining
* Confident writing and shaping policies
* Someone who’s happy in a stand-alone role but enjoys collaborating
* Level-headed, practical, and able to communicate clearly when things get tricky
* Able to travel to sites as and when needed
If you’re someone who thrives in a busy ER environment, knows employment law inside out, and isn’t fazed by high-stakes situations, we’d love to hear from you.
