ROLE TITLE: Shift Engineer
HOURS: Full Time – Permanent
WORKING PATTERN: Rotating Day and Late Shifts
LOCATION: Dunstable, Bedfordshire
REPORTING TO: Maintenance Manager
Key Responsibilities of Shift Engineer / Maintenance Engineer
1. To liaise with the Maintenance Manager to plan & Prioritise work to minimise downtime and maximise output.
2. To deliver maintenance priorities (PPM’s) and ensure these are logged when complete in SAP to ensure failure to complete PPM’s is communicated. .
3. Attend breakdowns on site ensuring there is always a rapid response and that plant equipment and machinery breakdown time is minimised
4. Carry out repairs to plant, equipment and facilities during production, effectively and efficiently either alone or as part of a team.
5. To continuously identify ways to reduce costs and improve standards and efficiency in all areas
6. To achieve hygiene audit standards in the engineering function & plan and assist in routine shutdown for hygiene purposes
7. Championing Continuous Improvement within the company
8. To control the maintenance of service equipment.
9. To work proactively with all Team Leaders to develop and drive a culture safe working practices and environment
10. Improve OEE
11. Participate in the out of hours on call system when required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
12. GCSE Maths & English grade A-C, or equivalent
13. 17th or 18th edition
14. 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regs
15. HND/HNC electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent
16. Possess engineering background, either mechanical, electrical
17. Previous hands on knowledge of working within the food industry
18. Previous experience in FMCG
19. Able to manage varied workload
20. Good organisational skills
21. Good interpersonal and team working skills

24. Ability to adapt to change

Role: Shift Engineer
Pay rates:
49. Hourly rates: £22.79 for basic shift and £25.76 for late shift.
50. Overtime is x1.5 weekdays and weekend 1.75
Shifts: 06:00 – 14:00 M-F / 13:45 – 23:45 Midnight M-T on rotation

Candidates must have 18th Edition electrical (17th would be fine too) and preferably have food industry experience.
