Projects Coordinator: Construction
The British Museum seeks a Projects Coordinator – Construction to support the delivery of construction and capital projects across its museum estate.

Salary: £29,642 per annum (plus civil service pension)
Hours: Full time, Hybrid (at least 4 days on‑site in Bloomsbury)

Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate access for contractors and consultants across multiple museum sites.
* Manage contractor and project‑related enquiries via a central access inbox.
* Prepare and submit permits to work in line with museum policies and procedures.
* Deliver site inductions for new contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
* Arrange museum‑wide communications about upcoming works, including internal briefings and local neighbourhood notifications.
* Attend coordination meetings and report on forthcoming project activity.
* Undertake site walk‑bys during construction to monitor safe working practices, housekeeping and access arrangements.
* Assist with project handovers and manage project elements under direction.
The role requires flexibility; workloads vary with project stages and may involve occasional early mornings, evenings or weekends.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3, CSCS card or equivalent.
* Ability to read CAD drawings with an understanding of health & safety practices and CDM requirements (desirable).
* Good IT skills, including confidence with Microsoft Office.
* Experience in a support or coordination role within a complex organisation, ideally construction management or regulatory environment.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and communicate effectively with colleagues and contractors.
* Positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to develop new skills.
