Job Title: Teaching Assistant (BSL Level 3+) – Deaf Provision

Pay Range: £100 – £130 per day (dependent on experience)

ANZUK Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greenwich seeking a Teaching Assistant with BSL Level 3 (or above) to join their team from an immediate start. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work within a specialist deaf provision, supporting pupils with hearing impairments to access learning in a nurturing and well-supported environment.
The school is known for its strong inclusive ethos and well-established deaf provision, creating an environment where specialist support staff can make a meaningful and lasting impact on pupil progress and communication development.
This Teaching Assistant role in Greenwich would suit experienced TAs or Learning Support Assistants with strong BSL skills and proven experience working with deaf children in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities of Teaching Assistant:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils within the deaf provision.
Use British Sign Language (BSL) to support communication and access to learning.
Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted and inclusive lessons.
Support pupils’ language development, social skills and emotional wellbeing.
Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and engagement.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold a minimum of BSL Level 3 qualification (essential).
Have proven experience working with deaf children in a school setting (essential).
Demonstrate strong understanding of strategies to support hearing-impaired pupils.
Be confident supporting communication, language and literacy development.
Maintain high expectations for pupil progress and behaviour.
Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
