Corporate Counsel, Transportation and Logistics
Amazon Japan Legal is seeking an experienced, intelligent, and motivated attorney to support our rapidly expanding operations and logistics businesses in Japan. The position reports to an experienced Amazon lawyer who is the Japan operations and logistics legal lead.
The role involves supporting Amazon’s growing operations and logistics business in Japan, including new and innovative services. You will serve as the primary legal counsel on a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters related to operations and logistics in Japan. Your responsibilities include advising on strategic deals, launching new products and services, negotiating and drafting complex commercial transactions, coordinating with public policy and regulators, influencing legislation and regulations, and assisting in compliance design and implementation.
This position is based at Amazon Japan’s headquarters in Meguro.
Minimum Requirements
1. Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from a leading university and law school.
2. Licensed to practice law in Japan, the United States, or other common law jurisdictions.
3. Approximately 7+ years of legal experience, including experience at a leading global law firm or in-house at a major multinational corporation.
4. Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency, with the ability to communicate orally and in writing, draft agreements, and negotiate in both languages.
