Where will you be working?
You will be working at our NEW purpose-built supported living service 'The Paddocks' based in Marston Green.
The Paddocks is Autism West Midlands newest supported living service opening in August/September 2025. The Paddocks will support individuals to live independently within their own self-contained apartments.
The service will be home to 9 individuals to enjoy meaningful activities and accessing the community. The Paddocks will benefits from individual court yards for each self-contained flat and access to a large communal garden space. Also a sensory/activity room in which the residents can take part in activities such as games, crafting activities and even parties. The Paddocks also has a training kitchen.
As a Deputy Manager you will be supported by a Registered Care Manager.
Working days will include three office-based days and two days of direct support each week.
The Shifts are 7.00am – 2.30pm and 2.15pm – 9.45pm. All staff work a mixture of early and late shifts as well as alternate weekends.
As the Deputy Manager at The Paddocks, you will be responsible for:
* Promoting an enabling environment, ensuring high standards of professional practice, whilst achieving compliance with the standards required by CQC, internal policies and procedures and external contract requirements.
* To ensure that the support provided is led by the person and offers new experiences through a wide range of meaningful activities within their home and local community.
* To empower autistic individuals to live as independently as possible with the appropriate levels of support.
* Conduct person centred reviews at appropriate intervals, involving the person and their circles of support
* Deputise for the Registered Manager in all aspects of the service delivery including communications with parents and professionals, safeguarding and CQC, taking a lead in key responsibilities
* Rational on call duties is also required for this post
What we are looking for:
* Substantial training or a qualification relevant to a supervisory position in social care or a related field
* An understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks of registered care services and Person-centred practice
* Experience of working in relevant settings with autistic adults, learning disabilities, or mental illness
* Strong leadership personality with a natural ability to positively shape the work of others
* Able to work flexibly across a seven-day rota to meet the needs of the service
