Our public sector are looking for a Customer Service Advisor to join them on a temporary basis. Location: Fully On-Site – Solihull - B37 5TN Contract Type: Temporary Hours: 37 hours per week (Flexible options available, e.g. 4-day week) The Opportunity: We are proud to be partnering with a respected public sector who are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Customer Service Advisors to join their Customer Contact Service on a temporary basis. What You'll Be Doing: As a Customer Service Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for a wide range of customer enquiries across services such as: * Council Tax * Benefits * Social Services * Environmental Services * Registrars, and more You’ll handle queries through various channels including: * Telephone (inbound and outbound) * Face-to-face interactions * Email and Webmail * Live Chat * SMS/Text Messaging Your role will be focused on delivering outstanding service and support, resolving issues efficiently, and signposting where necessary. Key Responsibilities: * Provide a professional, friendly and responsive service to all customers * Understand customer needs and resolve or escalate enquiries as appropriate * Accurately handle and log sensitive information in line with council procedures * Manage more complex or sensitive interactions with empathy and confidence * Take payments (cash, card, postal), handle remittance, and perform daily banking tasks in line with financial regulations * Stay up to date with policies, procedures, and systems through ongoing training * Work both independently and collaboratively to meet individual and team targets What We’re Looking For: * Strong communication skills – both written and verbal * Customer-focused mindset with a passion for helping people * Ability to multi-task across a variety of systems and service areas * Problem-solving abilities and initiative to deal with issues effectively * Flexible, team-oriented and eager to learn * Previous experience in a customer service or public sector environment is a plus If you're a great communicator, love helping others, and are looking to build experience in a purpose-driven environment, we’d love to hear from you
