Sphere Solutions are looking for a Buyer or procurement specialist to join an innovative construction team in Liskeard. Our client works on large-scale projects across Cornwall and Devon, so this will be a varied and busy position.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage materials, supplier relationships, and procurement processes to keep projects running smoothly. If you have experience in purchasing, procurement, or the construction industry, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact on exciting local developments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Source and purchase construction materials, cranes, and haulage.
2. Manage purchase orders, stock levels, and timely deliveries.
3. Build strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and monitor performance.
4. Support production and site teams to keep projects on schedule.
5. Ensure materials meet quality, safety, and sustainability standards.
6. Identify cost-saving opportunities and help forecast future requirements.
7. Maintain accurate records and support audits.
Person Specification
8. Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
9. Experience within construction, timber frame, manufacturing, or a related industry is beneficial.
10. Good understanding of construction materials.
11. Commercial awareness.
12. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
13. Competent in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft programs.
