Role Overview The Assistant Management Accountant will support the preparation of management accounts, maintain financial records, and assist in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This role plays a key part in the day-to-day operations of the finance function and provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical and commercial finance skills. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, organisation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Accounts Support · Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly management accounts for review · Support month-end close processes, including journal postings and reconciliations · Maintain accruals, prepayments, and the fixed asset register · Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities Transactional Finance & Controls · Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies · Prepare and submit supplier payment runs for approval · Assist with processing payments via accounting software and online banking systems · Support general ledger maintenance and ensure data accuracy Credit Control & Stakeholder Support · Support credit control processes, including managing client queries, disputes, and refund requests · Provide support to junior members of the finance team where required Systems, Processes & Controls · Design, implement, and embed robust Group finance processes and controls · Improve efficiency through process standardisation and automation · Ensure strong documentation of procedures and controls across the Group · Support the development, optimisation, and integration of finance systems Process Improvement · Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and reporting · Assist in maintaining accurate financial documentation and audit trails Key Qualities: · AAT qualified or finalist · Previous experience within a finance or management accounting function · Strong numerical and analytical skills · Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting systems · High level of accuracy and attention to detail · Strong organisational and time management skills · Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn What We Offer: · Comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you excel in your role · Clear progression opportunities within a growing organisation · 75% reimbursement of your monthly mobile phone bill to cover business use · Performance-based financial rewards, recognising your contributions · Opportunities to participate in charity initiatives and team-building activities, from fundraising walks to skydiving · A chance to work with an award-winning, high-performing team Are you ready to become part of something special?
