Production Shift Supervisor
Location: Newbury
Salary: Up to £33,000 per year
Hours: 38.75 hours per week, Monday-Friday (10am-6pm, with flexibility to cover early shifts)

About the Role
An exciting opportunity for a Production Shift Supervisor to lead and coordinate all production and end-of-day clean-down activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This hands-on role focuses on motivating teams, driving performance, and fostering a strong safety-first culture while delivering production targets and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
Lead and develop the shift team to achieve production targets.
Manage staffing activities, training, and onboarding.
Promote a positive, respectful working environment.Safety, Compliance & Quality
Ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations.
Maintain high housekeeping standards and product quality.
Investigate and escalate incidents and near misses.Production Control & Process Management
Coordinate daily production to meet output and efficiency targets.
Oversee clean-down and setup for next day's production.
Monitor KPIs and liaise with maintenance for repairs.Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements.
Engage operators in CI initiatives and waste reduction.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with maintenance, technical, warehouse, and planning teams.
Support new product introductions and trials.Candidate Profile
Essential:
Proven experience in manufacturing supervision or team leadership.
Strong understanding of production processes and KPIs.
Knowledge of health & safety and quality standards.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Desirable:
Experience in food manufacturing.
Training in Lean, Six Sigma, or CI tools.
Familiarity with OEE or similar performance systems.Benefits
