The Comfrey Project in Gateshead is looking for a Finance Assistant. Since 2001, The Comfrey Project has offered a secure and inclusive environment for individuals who have escaped conflict and persecution. We use horticulture-based activities including gardening, bee-keeping, cooking, crafts and construction with the goal of enhancing their physical and mental health, assisting them in acquiring new skills, and helping them integrate into their new community. We aim to create a welcoming space where everyone is encouraged to play an active role. Our volunteers, people seeking asylum and refugees living in Northeast England, share their skills and knowledge, assist in running our sessions, help make organisational decisions, and gain from active participation. We are interested in hearing from experienced and confident financial administrators, keen to be part of a small, dynamic team to help us realise our ambitious plans for the future, by providing a robust underpinning of financial policies, systems and internal controls.
