We are looking for a motivated and skilled Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Community Wound Clinic. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician with strong wound care and tissue viability expertise. In this pivotal role, you will work within the MDT to provide specialist assessment, advice, and advanced wound care interventions. You will support the Clinic Nurse, manage a defined caseload, and contribute to delivering safe, effective, and timely wound healing outcomes. You will also provide leadership to junior staff, support service development, and play an active role in the operational management of the clinic alongside the Team Leader, helping ensure smooth day-to-day service delivery and high clinical standards.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities Include: Providing expert clinical advice and managing complex wound care needs. Leading on caseload management and patient review. Supervising and supporting junior and unqualified staff. Contributing to service management, clinic flow, and operational planning. Participating in training, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria

1. Registered Nurse & current NMC Registration
2. Bachelor’s Degree
3. Specialist post graduate qualification or equivalent experience
4. Proficient level of knowledge in clinical speciality
5. Knowledge of service improvement
6. Able to undertake a literature search and critically appraise research papers

Desirable criteria

7. Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience)
8. Advanced clinical skills
9. Non-medical Prescribing

Experience

Essential criteria

10. Relevant experience Experience in the relevant specialty
11. Experience of working in a multiprofessional environment
12. Experience of working with preregistration nursing/midwifery students in a mentorship role
13. Experience of undertaking audit

Desirable criteria

14. Experience of participating in research
15. Experience of participating in practice change
