Post Title: Graduate Apprentice Building Standards Surveyor

Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £23,878.40 - £46,410.00
Salary placement will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose
This role is open to candidates with ambition to develop to a professional grade. Initially, the position will be on a fixed grade basis, changing annually as successful assessments, competencies, and stages are achieved.
The apprenticeship will form a contract covering the candidate's progression, aligning with the Council's expectations. The contract will specify duties, responsibilities, management, and mentoring arrangements. Each stage's assessment will involve a technical review by the Building Standards Management Team and the appointed Workplace Mentor, with recommendations to the Head of Infrastructure for approval.
The starting point would typically be a higher-level school leaver or practical qualification from further education. The completion of the apprenticeship will result in a Building Standards Surveyor qualification, including a Graduate Apprenticeship BSc (Hons) in Construction and the Built Environment, and a minimum of three years of on-the-job training.
