Job Summary
:
The role involves processing and analysis of clinical samples, data management, laboratory and equipment maintenance, and inventory control. All activities are performed in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and GDPR requirements to ensure patient confidentiality and data integrity.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
1. Receive, accession, prepare, process, analyze, store, and report on clinical samples.
2. Perform Whole Genome Amplification (WGA) and subsequent analysis using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)or other analytical techniques.
3. Prepare and review results and reports.
4. Operate manual and automated clinical instruments.
5. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
6. Manage inventory of consumables and reagents, including quality control.
7. Adhere to SOPs and revise/write SOPs as needed.
8. Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
9. Perform accurate data entry and maintain Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
10. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
11. Participate in lab meetings and Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
13. Availability for occasional overtime, including weekends.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
14. Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Biomedical Sciences, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry)
15. Fluent English (spoken and written)
16. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Preferred:
17. Master’s degree, ideally in Reproductive Genetics, Women’s Health, or Preimplantation Genetics
18. Experience in a regulated laboratory environment
19. Impeccable record keeping and Good Documentation Practices
20. Strong pipetting and laboratory techniques
21. Organizational and time management skills
22. Attention to detail
23. Teamwork, patience, and excellent communication skills
24. Structured and systematic approach
Work Environment:
25. Clinical laboratory setting
26. Regulated environment under ISO 15189:2012
27. Requires adherence to strict SOPs and QMS
28. May involve occasional overtime and weekend work
Experience:
29. 0–2 years of experience in a similar role
30. Experience in regulated environments is desirable
Education:
31. Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (required)
32. Master’s degree in relevant field (preferred)
