Policy, Strategy & Partnerships Officer
Location: Merton (Hybrid Working)
Rate: £300 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: 6 Months
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Policy, Strategy & Partnerships Officer to join a forward-thinking London local authority on an initial 6-month contract. This role sits within a central policy and improvement function, supporting senior leadership to drive strategic priorities, partnership working, and organisational change.
This is a strong opportunity for someone with public sector experience who enjoys working across policy development, stakeholder engagement, and corporate projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development of corporate policies, strategies, and improvement plans
* Provide policy advice and briefing support to senior leadership and elected members
* Contribute to and help coordinate strategic partnerships and cross-organisational initiatives
* Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, partners, and external organisations
* Research, analyse, and present findings through reports, briefings, and presentations
Key Requirements
* Experience within policy, strategy, or partnerships in a public sector or similar setting
* Good understanding of local government or public sector environments
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
* Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Contract Details
* Initial 6-month contract

* Hybrid working (office and remote split)
* Immediate or short-notice start preferred
* Flexibility required for occasional meetings outside standard hours
