Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position but will require regular onsite attendance in Gloucester for secure system access.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
In this role, you will create and manage automation environments that enable the validation of critical applications and services. You’ll work closely with testers, ensuring scripts run successfully, results are visible through dashboards, and processes are continuously improved.
You will also participate in agile ceremonies and knowledge-sharing sessions with colleagues, partners, and clients, applying your expertise to strengthen testing practices and support wider infrastructure projects. Your work will help drive faster, more reliable delivery in mission-critical environments.
Key responsibilities include:
Design & Maintain: Build and manage frameworks and automation environments.
Test & Integrate: Work with testers to run scripts and link outputs to dashboards.
Collaborate & Share: Engage in agile ceremonies and client/partner knowledge-sharing.
Support & Enable: Provide ongoing support for automation across critical projects.
Innovate & Improve: Apply automation to increase delivery speed and reliability.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
You should bring hands-on experience in automation frameworks, virtualisation, and containerisation, with the ability to collaborate effectively in agile environments. Strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to innovate are key.
You should have experience in:
Deploying virtualised workloads with L3/L4 networking
Configuration and automation tools (Robot Framework, Go, vCentre Networks)
Linux (RedHat/CentOS – System Admin & Bash) and/or Windows (System Admin & PowerShell)
CI/CD and monitoring tools (Jenkins, InfluxDB, Grafana)
Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
Desirable skills include:
Cloud platforms and technologies (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner)
Software and infrastructure testing principles
Test management tools (TestRail, X-Ray)
Reporting dashboards with Splunk or ELK stack
