We’re looking for an exceptional Governance & Reporting Manager to help us make a difference to our planet.

As our Governance & Reporting Manager, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home.This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.

Your world ofexpertise

Based within the Portfolio Office, you will be responsible for the daily running of the Governance & Reporting team, providing clear, focused and positive line management for our Portfolio Analysts.You will ensure the timely delivery of high-standard reporting outputs for a variety of governance anddecision-making bodies.Working alongside other Team Leaders, you willcollaborate on team-building and strategic-thinking activities and help drive improving standards of data quality and governance.

* Lead the team: have line and task management responsibility for a team of Portfolio Analysts, creating aninclusive, productive and empowered working environment.Motivate andsupport team members, ensuring clear objectives, regular feedback, and professional growth opportunities.
* Represent the team: be a positive, approachable and informed representative of the Governance & Reporting team, and Portfolio Office, leading in showcase and tutorial activities, andsharing latest developments.
* Set the standards:lead the preparation of high-quality reports for a variety of senior leadership boards. Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with stakeholder requirements.
* Translate the vision into action: provide technical steer to drive the continuous improvement of suitable and insightful reporting mechanisms whichsupport informeddecision-making for a variety of governance boards.
* Pursue innovation: beactively interested in reporting and governance new releases and keen to drive smarter working, using AI and other tools as appropriate. Identify opportunities to enhance governance and reporting processes.
* Worktogether: build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, seizing opportunities for cross-functionalcollaboration across the organisation and with other public sector bodies, and ensuring effective communication and information flow on governance and reporting matters.

As our Governance & Reporting Manager, your total reward package will be up to £73,518 annually, which includes:

* An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 28.97%
* Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years andoptionto buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annualleave

Essential Criteria,skillsand experience:

* Experience of managing and developing a high-performing team, communicating clear targets, providing technical expertise as required, and ensuring the successful delivery of group targets.
* Experience in portfolio, programme and project delivery, with expertise in governance and reporting evidenced by appropriate qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, MoP).
* Reporting expertise in the preparation, review, and presentation of information for executive management, boards, and external regulators or auditors.
* Exceptional ability to analyse, interpret, and synthesise large volumes of data and complex information, translating findings into actionable recommendations.
* Well-practiced in a variety of data management and visualisation tools including project management databases and Power BI.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to distil complex subjects into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
