Band 5 Staff Nurse – Accident and Emergency
Be among the first 25 applicants. An exciting opportunity has become available to join a growing, vibrant team within the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. We are recruiting Registered Nurses (Adult) with active NMC registration to work within our Emergency Department, providing a 24‑hour service to patients requiring emergency treatment of acute injuries or illness.
Responsibilities include assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating nursing care, providing prescribed nursing care without supervision, contributing to the development and evaluation of nursing practice within the department and ward area, and ensuring nursing care is delivered in accordance with local policies, procedures, guidelines and the NMC code of professional conduct.
Applicants should have experience working as a student nurse or as a qualified staff nurse within the NHS or equivalent, and be highly motivated and enthusiastic to work in an acute setting.

* Active NMC registration

Desirable Criteria
* Experience with preceptorship programmes
* Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures related to emergency care

Additional Information
Preceptorship: The Trust will provide a 12‑month preceptorship period for new to registration nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals.
Recruitment to Employment: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required; the successful candidate will pay the DBS cost through salary deduction.
