We are looking for enthusiastic Occupational Therapists with experience of working with children with additional and complex needs. The Children’s Therapy Team provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside dedicated professionals providing excellent high‑quality care to reduce the impact of disability to children and their families.
We work with children and young people aged 0–19 with well‑developed and evidence‑based pathways covering the needs of children with a wide range of physical difficulties.
The team comprises occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists. We work closely with colleagues in health, education and social care to provide a genuinely child‑centred service. We work in a variety of locations, including clinics, children’s own homes, nurseries, and schools.
This post provides applicants with an opportunity for leadership in developing the local service and working with service users to strengthen and develop the local service.
We can offer clinical and management supervision, specialist support by experienced senior staff, continuing professional development and specialist OT forums. The successful candidate must be able to manage their own time effectively and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
The Children’s Therapy Team has a strong network of Clinical Leads and a Professional Lead for Children’s OT.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well‑being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
