Overview
Luxury Commercial Sales Manager, Central/ Birmingham — Diageo, Birmingham, England, United Kingdom.
Role responsible for growing the P&L of the most premium outlets in the GB on-trade, leading a team based in Birmingham and the surrounding area, comprising Key Account Managers, Activation Executives and Customer & Culture Marketing Managers. The role partners with senior stakeholders to develop and execute strategies that drive growth in luxury on-trade accounts and build strong customer relationships while reflecting the brand’s luxury image and values.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for driving the internal P&L delivery and external market share growth of the Diageo Luxury portfolio in the region. Lead the team to executional success by providing strategic direction for the region, using market knowledge and outlet data to build plans to win share and deliver growth in on-trade P&L.
* Partner with the Marketing team to activate brands in outlets, driving talkability and availability.
* Build and maintain senior-level relationships with owners/managers of key retail groups in your account file.
* Deliver against distribution and execution targets each month, quarter, and year.
* Create and foster an inclusive team culture that inspires and shapes the future of the channel to develop world-class customer relationships.
Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities
* Leadership commercial experience in Luxury product categories or high-end on-trade accounts is preferred.
* Proven track record of managing multiple influential retail customers and building brand-new opportunities within the sector.
* Deep understanding of what is important to influential on-trade GB customers and using this insight to drive commercial planning.
* Strong on-ground awareness of on-trade and third-space venues, with excellent relationships with key industry influencers.
* Experience building and activating luxury brands with central marketing teams, demonstrating brand-building capability and robust decision-making across commercial and marketing levers.
* In-depth category knowledge across spirits and alcohol (and non-alcoholic drinks); passion for premium and super-premium brands, customers, and consumers.
* Advanced negotiation and customer relationship skills; robust P&L literacy with numerical/analytical insight and accountability for performance.
* Ability to forge strong cross-functional relationships and confidently interact with senior internal and external partners to deliver outcomes.
* Excellent networking to manage multiple external customers and collaborate with internal partners to build value.
* Proactive and entrepreneurial approach to grow existing and win new customers ahead of competition.
