Teaching Assistant Level 2 - Glasllwch Primary School
Salary: Grade 3 SCP 5 - 6 £24,790 - £25,183 (Pro rata)
Glasllwch Primary School provides education for pupils aged between 3 and 11 years. It is located in an economically advantaged, residential area of Newport and is part of the John Frost cluster of primary schools. The school currently has 210 pupils on roll, plus 16 full-time equivalent pupils in the nursery, which opened in September 2015.

The Governing Body and Head Teacher are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking, caring, and reliable Teaching Assistant to start on Monday, 1st September 2025.
This will be a fixed-term, temporary contract until the end of December 2025.
The position is for 37 hours a week: 8.30 am - 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30 am - 4 pm on Friday.

The successful candidate will:
* Work under the guidance of teaching staff and/or members of the school leadership team
* Support individuals and groups of pupils to enable access to learning
* Assist the teacher with managing pupils in the classroom and beyond
* Assist with admin tasks and help develop/maintain a creative learning environment
Holidays must be taken during school closure periods. The appointment process will include an interview with the school leadership team and observation of a learning activity with a small group of learners.
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
