Project Planner – Northern Ireland/Bristol
We’re working with a well-established main contractor who are looking to appoint a Project Planner to join their growing team. This is a key role supporting the Planning Manager and site teams in the preparation, coordination, and management of project programmes from tender through to construction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing tender programmes and converting them into Master Construction Programmes
* Liaise with Planning Manager, Construction Directors and Contract Managers to finalise and update programmes
* Report progress and programme slippage to senior stakeholders
* Prepare method statements, logistics plans, and periodic reviews of key project timelines
* Maintain programme databases (Gateway) and ensure document control compliance
* Uphold Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards in line with ISO requirements
* Support company CPD, sustainability, and CSR initiatives
Key Requirements:
Essential:
* Minimum 3 years’ planning experience in a construction environment
* Proficient in Asta Powerproject and/or Microsoft Project
* Strong understanding of construction sequencing and project lifecycle
* Excellent reporting and communication skills
* Competent with Microsoft Office
* Experience working on live construction sites
* Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/BTEC/Degree)
* CSR or CSCS card
Desirable:
* Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools
* Understanding of tender documents, contracts, and commercial planning
* Knowledge of web-based document management systems
* CIOB accreditation
