Our client is a well-established consultancy, operating for over 5 years, that has grown from a specialist surveying practice into a trusted nationwide partner delivering development consultancy services across the UK. Their expertise supports a wide range of clients, including local authorities, national house builders, architectural practices, engineering consultancies and commercial developers.
With a reputation for quality and innovation, they utilise the latest technology and advanced software to deliver accurate, reliable and tailored survey solutions. Core services include topographical land surveys, measured building surveys, utility surveys, setting out, as-built surveys, and drone surveys.
The Role
Due to growth, they are seeking a Senior Utility Surveyor to join the team. This is a key role that combines technical delivery with leadership, mentoring and client liaison. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering accurate survey data, maintaining quality control and supporting the development of junior surveyors.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake investigative utility surveys in line with PAS 128 standards.
* Produce and review all necessary paperwork in accordance with company procedures.
* Liaise effectively with site surveyors, contractors, suppliers and clients.
* Carry out quality control checks and ensure accurate data is issued to CAD.
* Review and sign off survey drawings before client submission.
* Mentor and support the training of less experienced surveyors.
Experience & Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Utility Surveyor, ideally with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
* Advanced proficiency in 2D/3D AutoCAD and relevant survey software.
* Strong knowledge of underground utility tracing and GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar).
* Experience in delivering complex surveys across varied environments.
* A full UK driving licence.
* Previous experience mentoring or training surveyors.
* Desirable: experience in post-processing GPR data.
