We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 ward unit leader. We welcome applications from Registered Nurses and Allied Health Professionals with relevant experience.
UHL at Ashton Lodge will be open until approximately July 2025 and will transfer to our new unit within the City Centre at Preston Lodge.

Main duties of the job
1. Take 24-hour accountability and responsibility for the designated area. Be visible, accessible, and responsive to the needs of service users, patients, carers, and the public.
2. Provide direction and effective, inspirational leadership to the nursing and multidisciplinary team within your area.
3. Act as an expert clinical practitioner, ensuring high-quality care through yourself and your team. Serve as a clinical and managerial role model.
4. Ensure a supportive learning environment for all students on placement within your ward/unit.
5. Practice clinically in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for a defined caseload. Ward/Unit Managers are expected to practice clinically at least 50% of their working time.

Education and Qualifications
* RN or AHP (level relevant to the practice area: adult, child, mental health, or learning disabilities)
* Recognized NMC/HCPC teaching and assessing qualification and a Practice Assessor preparation day
* Post-registration education relevant to the specialty
* Clinical Leadership Programme
Clinical Skills, Knowledge, and Ability
* Demonstrates high clinical competence and expertise relevant to the specialty
* Up-to-date knowledge of policy and practice relevant to the specialty
Experience
* Significant post-registration experience, including at senior level
* Recent experience supporting learners, supervising, and assessing practice
Leadership, Education, and Professional Development
* Ability to prioritize, use initiative, and lead a multidisciplinary team
* Dynamic, able to challenge constructively and lead effectively
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to influence professional groups
