This is rapidly growing and expanding financial services business based in the City of London. They are well-established and specialise in the trade of physical precious metals, as well as foreign exchange services; operating across several countries internationally.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their UK function by recruiting a sole Senior Accountant to join their London office.
Role
The Senior Accountant for this exciting financial services business based in City of London, will work closely with the Managing Director, responsible for all statutory accounting, financial compliance, and audit processes. They will also take on a number of key duties including:
Lead year-end close, prepare statutory accounts, and act as primary audit contact.
Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, Companies House requirements, and group policies.
Prepare and submit VAT returns (including margin schemes), PAYE/NIC, and other HMRC filings.
Apply correct VAT treatments for high-value transactions.
Own general ledger accuracy, accounting processes, and policy documentation.
Manage intercompany accounting and maintain internal controls.
Oversee inventory accounting and ensure accurate treatment of purchases, sales, and stock movements.
Reconcile FX transactions and perform revaluations.
Act as Xero system owner, improving configuration, automation, workflows, and documentation.
Build reporting structures in Excel / Tableau (optional).
Liaise with HMRC, auditors, and MLRO, providing documentation for AML or regulatory reviews.
Profile
The ideal candidate for this Senior Accountant position, should have the following attributes:
Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA)
Strong practical experience in statutory accounting and audit processes
Small/Mid-tier practice background or industry experience in a sole function is advantageous
Experience using Xero
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

£55,000 to £65,000 plus benefits including:
