We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work in schools across the Corby area. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals with experience or interest in mental health, psychology, or pastoral care, who are keen to support students in overcoming barriers to learning. About the Role: As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, or other emotional needs. You will play a key role in supporting their wellbeing, engagement, and progress within the classroom. What You'll Do: Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with mental health needs Help students regulate emotions and develop coping strategies Support behaviour management in line with school policies Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams Build positive, trusting relationships with students Encourage engagement in lessons and school life What We're Looking For: Experience working with young people or in a mental health-related role (e.g. youth work, care, support work) A calm, empathetic, and patient approach Strong communication and interpersonal skills A genuine passion for supporting mental health and wellbeing A relevant degree (e.g. Psychology) is desirable but not essential Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Why Join This Role?
