Salmo Salar Ltd is a well-established, family-run food manufacturer specialising in the preparation and smoking of premium salmon products. We combine traditional methods with modern production standards to supply high-quality products to our customers across the UK.
The Role
You will oversee the daily running of the production area and ensure smoked salmon products are produced safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Factory Manager you will coordinate labour, monitor quality and maintain food safety standards.
You will also provide support and cover across key factory positions when required. We are looking for someone who leads by example.
Key Responsibilities
* Organising staffing levels to meet daily production plans
* Ensuring orders are produced correctly and dispatched on time
* Monitoring raw materials and finished product quality against specifications
* Maintaining traceability and accurate batch records in line with BRC standards
* Minimising waste through effective stock control and rotation
* Maintaining excellent hygiene and housekeeping standards in high risk areas
* Supervising, guiding and motivating production staff
* Supporting different factory roles when needed with hands on involvement
* Reporting equipment faults and coordinating maintenance actions
* Promoting strong health and safety practices and recording incidents
* Working with management to improve efficiency and performance
* Liaising with other departments to ensure smooth operations
About You
You are reliable, organised and confident managing people in a production environment. You are comfortable working on the factory floor and understand the importance of food safety and quality.

* Supervisory or team leader experience in food manufacturing or production
* Good communication and organisational skills
