From managing large-scale contracts in hospitals and schools, to delivering secure FM services across defence estates, we take pride in operating with care, innovation and reliability.
We’re now looking for a Business Development Manager to lead the charge in growing our presence across UK. This is a key leadership role, reporting into the Preconstruction Director, and central to driving sustainable growth aligned to our business strategy.
What you’ll do:
1. Lead proactive business development across the FM sector in line with Skanska’s strategic goals
2. Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and partners across different sectors
3. Identify and qualify high-quality work opportunities – including frameworks, tenders, and negotiated contracts
4. Work closely with Preconstruction, Operations, and Senior Leadership to shape compelling customer propositions
5. Own and deliver detailed Customer Engagement Plans (CEPs) for your target geography/sector
6. Maintain and develop our CRM system to ensure effective reporting and pipeline visibility
7. Represent Skanska at key industry events and networking opportunities
8. Mentor and support talent within the business development and preconstruction teams

9. Increased visibility and recognition of Skanska FM in the market
10. Sustainable, predictable and profitable growth in FM opportunities
11. Improved client retention and cross-selling of new services to existing accounts
12. Tangible improvement in Net Promoter Score (NPS) and client satisfaction
What you’ll bring:
13. Proven experience in Facilities Management or built environment business development
14. Strategic mindset with the ability to spot opportunities, shape offers and influence senior stakeholders
15. Has thorough knowledge of business development and creating negotiated framework and bid opportunities
16. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – able to build trust and credibility quickly
17. Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional team
18. Experience of the Higher Education sector is desirable
19. Knowledge of the construction/FM landscape particularly across London and the South UK a plus
