Public Sector Travel Sales Developer

A senior position responsible for driving transformation and strategic growth across the UK public sector and transport ecosystem. This includes close engagement with government departments, transport authorities, regulators, and national infrastructure organisations such as Network Rail. The role carries a significant UK growth mandate aligned to Capgemini’s Engineering, Research & Development (ER&D) business.
The Director will shape high‑impact programmes, build senior relationships, anticipate sector challenges, and accelerate Capgemini’s footprint across major public‑sector and transport accounts.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership
* Shape and lead large‑scale transformation strategies for public‑sector and transport clients.
* Advise senior leaders on regulatory change, funding pressures, transport performance, resilience, and public‑service modernisation.
* Guide transport and infrastructure clients—including Network Rail—on operational performance, asset management maturity, safety culture, and reliability improvement.
Client & Stakeholder Leadership
* Act as a trusted networker with Chief Executives, COOs, Directors of Transport, and senior civil servants.
* Oversee delivery of major transformation programmes across government, transport, and national infrastructure.
* Develop and refine sector‑specific propositions for transport and public‑sector organisations.
Business Growth & ER&D Expansion
* Lead bids, strategic proposals, and high‑value public‑sector and transport pursuits.
* Build and manage a strong pipeline across transport and government portfolios.
* Carry a large UK growth target linked to Capgemini’s ER&D business, driving expansion across priority accounts.
Thought Leadership & Reputation Building
* Represent Capgemini Invent at key industry events, government forums, and sector roundtables.
* Shape thought leadership on transport resilience, infrastructure modernisation, national performance challenges, and public‑sector reform.
People & Practice Leadership
* Support capability development through coaching, recruitment, and team leadership.
* Drive knowledge‑sharing and innovation across the practice.
* Foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture aligned to Capgemini’s values.
