We are looking for a Team Manager in Wakefield (Castleford) to support adults with learning disabilities. In this role, you will not only manage and inspire a team of support staff but also have the chance to grow personally and professionally through exceptional training and a supportive management team.
Please note: Experience in leading a team is essential for this role.
Your Responsibilities
As a Team Manager, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality, person-centered support. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring all support plans are current and tailored to individual needs.
* Monitoring compliance across staff files, training, and competency requirements.
* Managing rota adherence through spot checks and out-of-hours visits.
* Proactively managing safeguarding in line with established procedures.
* Leading audits covering finance, medication, and quality standards.
* Supervising Support Workers and conducting performance management through 1:1s and mentoring initiatives.
* Attending care reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings while maintaining strong communication with families and external agencies.
* Managing budgets and ensuring financial accountability across services.
Flexibility is key, as this role will involve out-of-hours checks and the possibility of backfilling when short-staffed.
Are You the Ideal Candidate?
We’re looking for someone who has:
* A strong understanding of the health and social care sector, with the ability to meet financial and business targets.
* A passion for delivering high-quality care with energy and enthusiasm.
* Flexibility and ideally, a full driving license with access to a car.
* Experience working with individuals with autism, learning disabilities, and communication difficulties.
* Experience with complex physical and health needs.
* Excellent communication skills for a range of audiences.
* A willingness to work towards NVQ level 4/5 qualification.
