The Kingston Academy seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Lead Nurture Teacher to join our Inclusion team and play a pivotal role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to thrive academically and personally. Working under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, you will take responsibility for teaching small groups of pupils with additional needs, primarily across Key Stage 3. Experience of leading Maths and Numeracy and/or primary teaching is desirable but not essential. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, differentiated teaching across a range of curriculum areas, mainly in Years 7, 8 and 9. You will nurture positive relationships, promote emotional wellbeing, and foster resilience and independence among our most vulnerable learners. Your role will include close collaboration with subject teachers to design and lead a curriculum which is ambitious and challenging for some of our most vulnerable pupils.
The Kingston Academy is an outstanding Secondary School in North Kingston, which opened for the first time in September 2015 with a cohort of Year 7 pupils. TKA has received a substantial capital grant for the refurbishment of the existing educational facilities and for additional new modern buildings which we have now taken possession of. Our mission is to provide a world‑class education for all the young people within our community to ensure that every pupil is safe, happy and succeeds. We now have over 1000 pupils across the seven year groups from year 7 to year 13.
